Executive Summary

Our company, Smooth Ride Smoothies’ goal is to offer a healthy alternative to soda, energy drinks, etc. on college campuses. We will provide a natural source of energy and nutrients by offering an assortment of smoothies, produced by only the freshest fruits. By purchasing a concession trailer, Smooth Ride Smoothies will be able to travel campus to campus in the Boston area. Smooth Ride Smoothies will capitalize on the popularity of “fast food,” while targeting the healthy consumer.

Being apart of the smoothie industry may be difficult as there are several other smoothies businesses located in Boston. Not only are our competitor companies located in Boston, they are also in close proximity to our target market. Three of those businesses also have more than one location. It is our goal to set ourselves apart from the rest. What differentiates Smooth Ride Smoothies from it’s competitors is having the advantage of being a mobile business. We are able to travel to the customers, and where our smoothies are most desired.

Smooth Ride Smoothies will market through flyers and social media. We will post flyers around college campuses, announcing where our truck will be on each given day. Smooth Ride Smoothies will offer a calendar, which will display where we will be a month in advance. Twitter and Facebook will also be useful in short-term promotions. The concession trailer itself will also be an advertisement, as it will have our logo on the back.

Financially, we have been able to collect $40,000. Each member of the group has contributed $10,000. Luckily, we already have a truck that will pull our concession trailer; therefore there is no need to invest in a truck/van. It will also be less costly than owning an actual storefront. The price of a concession trailer, even when compared to a food truck, is significantly cheaper.
